Super Bowl Special

Last night we got quite a lesson in teams and belief! As leaders, we have a great window of opportunity to bring the lessons of the Super Bowl into our workplace.

The Patriot's proved the leadership/team theory that skill is important, but once you have the basic skills, working together is more important!' A group of people with a basic skill and banded together can outperform anyone!

For those who know me, you know for me to write anything about sports is a joke, but on team spirit and leadership, well, that's my game :)

When asked why as underdogs, the Patriots became Champions, many said, “We believed we could."

A lot will be written and said about this game and its Champions. What can you utilize right now?

It was a spectacular game in faith, focus and fight! This team went from underdogs to the’ top dogs'.

How did they do that? When 2 teams are great at defense, offense, rushing and passing, what makes the difference?

First---One obvious clue was when the team was introduced at the beginning of the game, did you notice the way they entered the field........all together, all at the same time. This was the first time in Super Bowl history that the players were not introduced individually.

They started as a team, they played as a team, and they won as a team!
They were a team that supported each other, rallied around each other, supported the strengths, and protected the weaknesses. The TEAM was preserved above all else.

Second--- This team believed (mentally, spiritually, physically) that they would win. It didn't matter that most all sports forecasters said they wouldn't win.

With the name of the Patriot's, the red, white and blue colors, and the spirit of true American patriots everywhere, this team 'had' a special will and they united to win!

So the question for you today is?

ARE YOU PART OF A TEAM?

ARE YOU A TEAM PLAYER?

DO YOU CONTRIBUTE YOUR SUPPORT, ENTHUSIASM, ENERGY, (mentally, spiritually, physically) TO HELP YOUR COMPANY REACH ITS GOALS??

DO YOU HAVE A CORPORATE SPIRIT THAT IS THIS UNITED?

IF NOT, WHAT CAN YOU DO TO BRING THIS ABOUT? OR AT LEAST BRING IT TO YOUR IMMEDIATE WORK AREA!

The lessons of the Super Bowl applied to the work place are:

1. NO COMPANY CAN WIN UNLESS ALL ITS MEMBERS COME TOGETHER IN SUPPORT AND PARTICIPATION

2. Unite!

3. Focus on what it takes to make the team perform well!
