eTip #17
On Gratitude
In the classes I teach on success, I ask the participants
to write out 6 gratitudes each night for 21 days. After that, make
the decision to continue or not. Gratitudes can be the standard,
“I’m appreciative for my wonderful daughter” to
the daily things like the leaves are gorgeous today or the clerk
that waited on me at the store was helpful and pleasant. What happens
is that we start looking for things during the day to put on our
list at night.
When you understand that what we think about expands,
then it becomes much easier to understand the concept of gratitude.
What we think about, we get more ofJ and if we can’t appreciate
what we have, why should we have more?
In this Thanksgiving season I challenge you to look
at your co-workers, the ones you like, and yes, the ones that drive
you nuts, and find two things to be grateful for. Do this between
now and Thanksgiving and you may be pleasantly surprised.
EXTRA: Successful people don’t spend any time on what
was…just what is going to be.
